Interesting article.
ReplyDeleteRe stigma and all, I believe I told you previously about my old friend Russell. It ultimately turned out that he had Lyme Disease, from which he died some 2 and 1/2 years ago. But back in around 2003, one doctor he consulted told him he had fibromyalgia, or neurofibromyalgia, or whatever. Which pissed Russell off no end because -- as he put it -- "That's a National Enquirer disease!"
lol. Lyme disease, I believe, is commonly misdiagnosed as fibromyalgia. From what someone with both diseases has said, it doesn't seem that the medical world is too open to talking about Lyme disease either.
