Oh heavens, yes. That's why the a pain regimen includes a hypnotic or medication that has sleep, relaxation, or sedative as a side effect. In fact, Trazadone's effects include pain relief and sleep. Same with Valerian (and her combos). Sleep deprivation is a monster in and of itself.
